I had read about this elsewhere, certainly noticed an abundance of speed cameras & speed traps last week, all well signposted with warnings of radar traps & plenty of cars coming the other way flashing headlights, most of the speed limits though seem sensible even the 30kmh areas in Paris had huge & I mean HUGE speed ramps & so close together that you couldn't get up to the 19mph between them.

All other things appear to be common sense I don't suppose many people here would even consider parking at right angles to the road on a zebra crossing - seems fairly common practice in france.

Apparently what they are really trying to stop with the handsfree phones is people that put the phone in a mount & then use wired headphones, there is no problem with a proper integrated system.

On many nationals where 90 km/h is the limit some french do over 110 .
Maybe after the reduction to 80 they will stay just under 100
