I need to source two new front tyres out here in Turkey and think maybe it will be problematic as its not as easy as popping into the closest quick fit. I will see if VW can help when I pop in there this morn about brake pads but in the meantime......

Dunlop SP Sport 07.....235/55R17 103W extra load are fitted at the moment to my 180DSG.

While I guess I need to keep to the same size tyre, what if any tolerance can I allow in respect of the weight rating of 103 and the speed rating of W. Can I go for LOWER ratings on these factors and if so by how much ?

Thanks

Hi berndros
I have looked at mine this morning they are 102 load rated and after doing some
Digging on the Internet most people say dont go below 101 as for speed rating
I think H is up to 140 mph and the w you have on yours is speed rated to 168mph
I think load rating of 98 is 750kg each corner totalling 3000kg but you must allow
A percentage more.hence the reason people recommend 101 or above
I hope I haven't confused you to much and you get your van sorted soon

Good advice calikev, i have seen too many cali's and T5 vans being shod with low profile tyres, which is not good?
