Hi , We have tried using travel kettle and hair dryer 750w in the socket next to the sink , 2 pin to 3 pin adapter , the socket has a green light above it but then goes to red as soon as we turn on the appliance , works fine with radio or phone chargers etc .. Do we have the wrong appliances or is there something wrong with the socket ? Thanks for your help , David, Karen and Copper

If you want to use a kettle or hair drier you will need to be on hook up and use the 3pin socket (UK versions).

If you mean the 2 pin socket on the B pillar, that is a small inverter that converts 12V from the leisure battery to 230V but only at 150 Watts (it should be written on the cover and have a read the user manual symbol on it). You will need to be on hookup as mentioned earlier and use the other socket beside the sink or fit a large inverter for such appliances. I use a 500W inverter for charging my Electric Skateboard. You would probably want something rated at over 1000W for your requirements. This will be okay for short periods of use like hair drying but will use a significant amount of your battery capacity if you’re not careful.

Or just use the gas stove/kettle.......or is that too easy?
