went into a car dealership on Friday and picked up my free VW connect unit the dealer said he had been sent a big box full to give away. Download the APP and away you go
You make an account and fill in your vin number and it gives you all the information about your vehicle build delivery date etc

Tells you battery voltage. Next service and even gives you to book service etc

The unit says it's only for cars. But it worked and I told the parts guy who had a box full of these units and he told me he did not know what to do with them

Might be big brother but does record all journeys and fuel fill ups
so grab yourself a free unit and have a play

Also. VW make a short. Apple USB lead with a right angle plug easy connection for apple play

Do you know if these work in old Calis? Mine is a 2009. The VW web site didn't help! Cheers.

Mine works in my 2013. If you are near a dealer just give it a try, they just hand them out.

Got one. Can't make an iPhone 5S or 6 plus connect via Bluetooth. The dongle blinks two greens on seating to the port. Neither phone will pair.

For work reasons, I had the opportunity to test the VW Connect plug-in with the new Volkswagen Polo.
Well: I wanted to see if it works with my 2013 California and the answer is yes. Of course, the feature that interests me most is to keep track of my itineraries: you can export them in text mode and take a screenshot to get the map.
