VED Tax Band for your Cali

I wish I could say I only had an extra £25 pa to pay!

Latest info I have heard is that VW have issued a bulletin to dealers confirming that some CO2 emissions have been revised, e.g. 150DSG Ocean from 163 to 166. The VW website and promotional material is about to be amended to reflect the changes.
Apparently VW will be writing to those affected with vehicles on order and awaiting delivery. Presumably those of us who have already taken delivery can just lump it. I know in my case it is only a matter of £25 a year and I am glad I have avoided the new VED system. However, it is another disappointing example of VW not getting things right and failing to communicate.

Pretty sure that when looking at spec pre ordering I went for the 204PS as the emission figure quoted then was also lower than what I have actually ended up with. Made a point of it with my Wife as her EOS was going to be higher rated, now both the same, wrong again.

Little niggles but still annoying! I'm still waiting answer from VW.........

VW have apparently said that future California's will have higher emissions leading to more tax

All Californias will be taxed at £140 per year from the 1st April irrespective of the emissions + the over £40k supplement.
If the emissions are higher it will only change the first year tax.

I think you have got that wrong in that you have added the years 2 - 6 supplement to year 1 initial VED rate.

Copy of DVLA information for first year VED. Cali's will be either £500 or £800 depending if over or under 170/171 point

CO2 emissions (g/km) Petrol (TC48) and diesel cars (TC49)
0 £0 £0
1 - 50 £10
51 75 £25
76 - 90 £100
91 - 100 £120
101 - 110 £140
111 - 130 £160
131 - 150 £200
151 - 170 £500
171 - 190 £800

191 - 225 £1,200
226 - 255 £1,700
Over 255 £2,000

Bit more than a niggle as the EOS is in the 'Emissions Scandal' group and buying another VW was clouded by that issue. Now again VW have proven to be unreliable in the information given.

My "niggle" was in ref to the unexpected change in VED rate only (for me £25pa), not the cumulative effects of all the current issues, which I agree are much more than a "niggle"!

Had a letter from VW today re the Co2 changes offering option to cancel order or proceed with compensation in high street vouchers.

Sounds a result

Mike

Me too - option to cancel or £250 in high street vouchers (150 DSG - so band G to band H)

Just offered me £250 too........

Sorry Rob, Don't know.
My dealings have only been associated with my 150ps DSG Ocean ( another member - @Broch Hunter , has been told his CO2 figure has changed because of his vehicle spec) and an incorrect V5C document (5 seats instead of 4).

Checked DVLA's website also..... Mine's a 7-seater, 150PS, 6-Speed Manual, Beach, delivered in January 2017.... Came with 235/55R17 tyres....

DFT.GOV.UK website says 168 CO2, Tax Band H + £210 per annum.... V5C says 167 CO2
FYI, my 5 seat Beach from Jan 2017 also has 167 on the V5 and not 168.

For what it's worth, my Beach, build week 9, registered 30 March 2017 states 164 G on the V5

It's a 2 seat bench with no additional seats, although on the V5 it states number of seats as 7

Go figure

Should have said, it's a 150 DSG

Just plain Bonkers!

Had enough of VW group today.

(It's OK I'm having a bad day today. Tried to book my Skoda Yeti in for service - as the dash computer says 200 miles to go before its due. Its on a flexible service interval. - the dealer says its wrong and not due until May 2018!)
