View from the Cali

the French government have already moved their position to allow business travellers and are due to decide on weather to relax things further to allow tourists (skiers) on the 14 Jan. Fingers crossed as we are booked same time as you.

Morzine have said they are losing 60% of their business due to the current ban and the ski industry is putting a lot of pressure on the French government.

ironically France now has the highest Covid rates in Europe.
Thanks for the info, you have given me hope! Sounds promising, fingers crossed.

No, 10 of us rented a chalet. We’ve been doing this for many years, and last year’s cancellation made it seem like our year was off to a very bad start.

We travel from Barcelona in two vehicles, since I have a Beach. 7 pairs of skis go on the floor between the first and second rows, without blocking foot room for the third row.

I do sleep in the van regularly when skiing in the Pyrenees. It’s an amazing luxury, no reservations, ski wherever the snow is best, no problem changing plans at the last minute. View attachment 87963
We are also staying in a chalet this year in La Toussuire; however, have often stayed in the van. We have really enjoyed the times we have slept in the van, the flexibility and cost saving is great.

Thanks for the info, we're booked in at Alpe d'Huez in March so hoping for some good news

Looks great, we are hoping to get to Val D'Isere for some skiing at the end of Jan if the rules change (hopeful that will happen today). We'll be taking the new California this time :). Out of interest what car park did you use, as last time we took a car so didn't have any concern over the 2M height restriction on most of them?
We stayed in La Daille, which is conveniently in the middle between Tignes and Val-d'Isère, and could ski right to our door. We parked in P5, which is outdoors with a height limit of 2M. The indoor P2 has a height limit of 1.90M, so not an option. 78 euros for the week.

Thanks - good to know the Cali fits under the 2M barrier then, despite snow on the ground. Just need them to open the borders to the UK now.

The site is called Back of Beyond touring park near Ringwood. Booked ages ago and pretty nice though more for ‘great whites’. Have since discovered we prefer smaller intimate sites. But, it is adult only which is quite refreshing.

Re the awning attachment - that is from Cysgod. Found them through this site and it really is very good. Made in Wales I believe.

Thank you. They are out of stock at the moment though.

Budle bay ?
More specifically, Budle Farm?
As a schoolboy I spent my summer as an employee working for Waren Camping and Caravan Park and Budle Bay Campsite. 5 a.m. milk deliveries to Seahouses, then a milk round on the Park, then supervision of horse trekking and canoe paddling. And, I was paid!

Magic, must have been great days.
Being from Northumberland, the coast was a regular sunday day out with Grandma and family.
