Great route! Fantastic photos!! Sorry for my cheek but did you use filters and if so can you give any details? Some of the highlights make for stunning viewing. Thanks for sharing.

Hi @Jabberwocky. The only filter I normally use is a standard UV filter. I have these on all my lenses. They also provide good protection of the actual lens elements. Did a little post-processing on my MAC using Adobe Lightroom.
I was hoping for some very clear nights to do some very long exposures but alas no luck. Might have used a ND filter for some of those.

No we were up at Clachtoll Bay beach camp site for a few days.
It seems that’s a popular stop on the NC 500. It’s a pretty area so I can see why. We did some coastal walks and just enjoyed the one location with our dog. Saw lots and lots of Cali’s, Conversions and Big Whites obviously doing the ‘500’. We were there 14/09 - 18/09 and it was really still busy. Camp site is adequate re space but 2 toilets and showers each men and women for numbers there is not enough. The 6 mile single track from the Lochinver turning up to the site should have been straightforward, unfortunately too many inexperienced drivers ( or maybe rentals) just don’t understand to leave space in front and 3 vehicles don’t fit into a passing place !
Full of ‘total numpties’ .

Numpties on the Applecross Pass also. Stuck for nearly an hour and we couldn’t even enjoy the view!

smol.jpgReceived van November and on my first incursion. Decided to go large on a trip from Central Scotland to Lanzarote. Given the current Europe wide lockdowns I've no idea how I'll get back but will worry about it in January. Pic from Famara beach in the north of the island on a blowy day.

Your photographs are like torture!! I am booked to ski in France from 4th February; however, I am not confident Mr Macron will allow visitors from the UK anytime soon

the French government have already moved their position to allow business travellers and are due to decide on weather to relax things further to allow tourists (skiers) on the 14 Jan. Fingers crossed as we are booked same time as you.

Morzine have said they are losing 60% of their business due to the current ban and the ski industry is putting a lot of pressure on the French government.

ironically France now has the highest Covid rates in Europe.

Are you staying in the van?

No, 10 of us rented a chalet. We’ve been doing this for many years, and last year’s cancellation made it seem like our year was off to a very bad start.

We travel from Barcelona in two vehicles, since I have a Beach. 7 pairs of skis go on the floor between the first and second rows, without blocking foot room for the third row.

I do sleep in the van regularly when skiing in the Pyrenees. It’s an amazing luxury, no reservations, ski wherever the snow is best, no problem changing plans at the last minute. 34D2D9F5-C2F8-432E-9A38-4AF153EF0CCC.jpeg
