Hi Folks I’m after a volunteer to help with our new external winter cover, we’re in the final stages of design and I’d like someone to try the cover out, feedback and take us some pictures for our website.
If anyone is willing to help there will be a free cover in it for them!

Just add to the thread :thumb

Cheers
Nick

Shame i could have taken it with me over Christmas to southern Germany just to say it was cold and heavy snow but we were warm in the van i would test if you want so thats another volunteer :thumb

Happy to try it, based in Edinburgh so get some proper weather !

Hi Nick,
When you say external winter cover what exactly to you mean?

I live in the van through out the winter in Scotland,I'm looking at getting something to insulate,I all ready have your roof topper. Was thinking of getting the goretex liner for inside but may wait depending on what your making.

Ive just come back down for some southern sun and to thaw out, heading back next week.

Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy, its more of a storage cover for folks who park their Cali up for a couple of months. We're looking at a couple of options at the moment :thumb

An internal insulator maybe on the cards too so watch this space. ;)

Cheers
Nick

My vans parked up my drive, barely moves but as its not covered I do try and drive it at least once every 3 weeks plus it sits on hookup.

Sneaky peak of the cover fitted on Brindisi's Van.

Goes over both the awning & bike rack with room to spare...

A few tweaks to make (i.e. - zip for sliding door etc) but we were both happy with the fit!

Saw the photo 1st and thought a T6 tread was coming :D

OK I'm happy with the design now so I'm after another volunteer to try on, feedback and take some pictures for the website! The first person to add to the post and PM me their details will get a free cover in exchange for their help!

;)

I'm more than willing to try it and take photos :)

There are a lot of negative internet posts about the damage some car covers can do to paintwork by rubbing / abrading in wind and moisture under the cover both damaging paint finish, worth some research before you decide to wrap your pride and joy in one.

Sbmcd makes a good point, you need a non scratch, breathable material (which our cover has) which needs to be secured tightly and needs to go on the van when its clean and dry - A cocktail of Grit/Dirt, wind and rain wouldn't do much good to the paintwork!

cover (1).JPG Looking good.. just a bit baggy round the front

back straps take up the slack nicely with no bike rack fitted

Hello Nick,
Do you have these covers for sale yet? If so how much are they?
I have had some recent minor damage caused by bird lime. I have always watched the vehicle very closely and clean anything off as soon as it appears but this vigilance didn't stop the latest damage from occuring within two hours. This has now been dealt with by our local body shop at some expense. I am thinking of buying one for when we are away and I can't keep an eye on it.
Best wishes
Paul

Ditto. Similar problem to Paul.
I cannot see these on your website.
Hello Ambler,
I contacted Nick at Comfortz Leisure some months ago about these covers. He told me that he was going to produce them but when he saw that they could be purchased on Ebay for very little he felt that there wasn't any profit in them for him. Understandably he has decided not to make them.

I eventually bought one of the Ebay covers. They are made by a company called Maypole and do the job well. They appear to be well made, have there own storage bag, are a reasonable fit and more importantly, stop the birds wrecking the paintwork. However they can be a bit of a fiddle to fit and I imagine you would struggle in any more than a light breeze but once on it tightens down well. Fitting is a two man job at first but I have since mastered putting it on on my own. However don't try to fit it over a dirty van or the cover will rub the grit and mark your paint work. If the vehicle is clean you wont have any problems.
