Hi all,

Hope you can help. Cant see this anywhere in the forums so hope it hasnt already been covered.

2013 Cali Ocean, we had tried to install a phone holder and when tightening the bracket it has snapped one of the grill slats as in the attached picture (doesnt look broken) where the control tab type thing is. They don't seem the strongest or we just tightened the bracket too tight.

Does anyone know how you can replace the vent at all, is this possible? Does anyone know of any VW Cali / Van businesses near Dorset who could possibly help with this at all ??

Many thanks.

Is it the light grey fascia that’s broken, or one of the darker moveable vents . It’s hard to tell from the photo.

The light grey fascia is very easy to remove, see video below:

Then you can either order a replacement or just glue the broken bit back together, and then clip the trim back into place.

Is the issue with the slats on the vent? We had an issue with out previous T5 (same vents) where the directional slats had partially broken. Basically a bit of plastic inside had snapped. Unsure how. It was easy to fix by popping the trim off (the stressful part) then super gluing the offending plastic back together. Just need to be careful popping the trim off.

Hi thanks for the response. It’s one of the moveable up and down slats that you control with the central tab thing, it’s the tan one that is broken on the left hand side. Looks like there are two little prongs that keep it in place that’s snapped off ‍♂️…. Thank you
