As far as I am aware you phone and give registration number.

Don’t forget to ask for VW Assist or you might end up with an AA van instead.

Use the button on the overhead console.

I see you had the comprehensive handover information like me

It’s like you have to think of every single question that might come up yourself on a handover - be nice if dealers had a cover list they went through - especially spending 68k

When I bought my new motorhome I had a two hour session in a covered workshop with three different technicians covering everything, a FIAT one for engine and chassis, a gas one, and an electrical one. I can thoroughly recommend SMC Newark, when we collected the Beach, the VW salesman thanked me for taking it......Car Salesman do not know campervans!
Mercedes don't follow service checklists so salesman won't follow them either.

Does that really work or it’s a joke?
I believe the “Spanner” calls the VW Assistance for breakdowns and the “SOS” calls them for emergencies… that’s what I was told anyway - after asking what they do for clarity.

Thats right , SOS is also automatically activated if you set off the crash sensors / airbags etc They ask if you are ok & if no reply send out emergency services to your location.

The spanner gets you through to someone that can arrange vw assistance, handy thing is that wherever you are it puts you through to someone speaking the language from the country that the van is registered in.

Thanks for clarifying

Mine was from a VW Van Centre and I think they were more van that camper.
The salesman I was dealing with for the sale (who seemed reasonably knowledgeable) sadly had to leave before I arrived for the handover so was left to someone else who knew a fair bit, but seemed to be in a rush to get through it quickly so not as comprehensive as I'd hoped and no time to think and ask questions.
Thank god for YouTube and this forum hey!
