Good Morning
We bought 4 x new grand california's last month, the 600 model. We are having problems with all four water pumps. They are going on hire and having intermittent problems. Pump seems to be a law unto itself. Comes on or off when bathroom door opens. Goes off when mobile phone is plugged in. Goes off completely then comes on next day. Driving us crazy. We replaced one pump completely but VW are not being helpful and saying to book it into service but this can take weeks. We are a rental company ( easicampers.com ) and love the vehicles but this should not happen to an 80k motorhome. Is this a software problem or mechanical?

The water pump on my 680 did not have enough pressure to pump water to either the sink, the shower or the toilet after only 7 nights of use. My VW dealer very kindly supplied me with a new pump assembly which has fixed it.

Probably water ingress to the tap micro switch, to much water onto the tap itself, a known issue VW need to address soonest. If it ends up running constently remove the fuse in the electrical Cupboard second one in.

Hi Nick,
the events your pump goes on or off seems mainly happens on the moment of an “electrical” change.
Bathroomdoor open--> triggers the light, Mobile phone plugged in --> electrical contact
This could be a software failure.

I have this information from the German VW forum. Members reported the same failure events.

Ask your dealer to update the sw to the latest version.

Hi,

if this is the case (=software failure) then you can verify this by resetting the customer-specific functional control unit (CFCU).

Reset of the CFCU:
- Disconnect and then reconnect the blue connector in front of the passenger foot area installed on the right of the dash panel behind the glove compartment.

This reset is also an interim solution till the problem occurs again.

maybe you can verify the "reset" method. Would be interesting for other members . You have 4 devices to experiment with ;)
