Waste water and drinking water sensors showing half empty

Even when fully drained empty .

Only done 2,000 miles.

Any ideas for cure , or is this the way they are ??

Mine (2022) seem very hit and miss. Put a fair bit of fresh water in - showed empty. Added not much more - shows half. Waste always shows some even when drained. I mostly ignore!

That’s just how the indicators work, they’re a rough guide rather than calibrated. The fresh tank typically doesn’t show full until you drive the van a bit (filled to the brim a few days ago, it showed half full; got to the campsite it showed full. The waste either shows a little bit in the tank even when fully drained, then full when full, and nothing in between. It’s just how it is.

Can only be float sticking with these sensors ?
Might be idea to spray shaft an float , with generous amount silicone spray could be solution ??

Wonder if just 3 levels , empty , half and full I would presume .

If some saying gauge moves , when drive must indicate , float is sticking

Why would you want to contaminate the fresh water tank with " generous amounts of silicone spray "?
Just use it, water will provide all the lubrication needed.
Use it or lose it.

Good point , maybe just a wipe on an off with spray on rag may help ?
Will monitor it

Fill to overflowing and empty a couple of times should get it moving. Mine is 2017 and has empty-full-half

Silicon oil will add a little je ne sais quoi to the taste of your favourite brew. The number of issues with this float level indicator makes me think an electronic one for £40 would be more reliable. The problem being the California is too integrated to allow for that

It really is just an arbitrary measurement, just use common sense if you are going to be away from fresh water for a few days simply fill up before you go. As for the waste, much the same, empty it in advance if required, however an alarm will ping if it gets too full.

The best I can suggest is try and enjoy the whole California experience rather than focus on what is (or can go) wrong.
