My toolkit.
What should be in it?
It looks like there are some bits missing?

It’s a 2011 SE

Nothing - the space you see is for housing the detachable tow ball if you have one.

So that's what the inside of one looks like! :shocked

At least you took the time to look for and in the toolkit ...:thumb
VW could have done a much better job disigning that , not the kit itself and the hiding place (witch i find ok) but the content is a bit poor...

I do have a locking wheel nut. Should it live in the toolkit? What hole should it go in?

Only one?! You should have one on each wheel!

Sorry... ;) The key thingy - not sure which hole but I have always found them in the tool kit somewhere.

You can see it in @willwander pic at about 11 o’clock from the towing eye. Top tip is to remove the stop in the left sliding seat rail so you can slide the seat forwards to easily access the wheel kit through the side door rather than having to empty your boot on the roadside and crawl inside.

I looked at mine the other day.... no spare wheel yet was surprised to see a jack. Not sure what I’m supposed to do after I’ve jacked it up!

Pushed into the end of the wheel brace you´ll find a
double ended screwdriver and the end of the wheel brace
is meant to be pushed into the hole on the spare wheel carrier
to help lowering and raising the spare wheel.

Just in case you were wondering :)

If you have the Can of Sealant - the idea is to Jack the vehicle up so that the wheel spins free. Inject the sealant, spin the wheel coat the inside and then pump up before lowering it back down.

Thanks ... I must get a spare before that happens.

my beach came without a jack or spare

Too right - don't whatever you do rely on the tyre sealant cr@p. Always have a proper spare.

Totally agree, the sealant is not appropriate for a campervan where you could be away on holiday or off the beaten track. A spare is a must have, we purchased the kit from the shop and got a spare wheel off ebay for £30

Many on here will be wondering if that £30 spare wheel you bought was the one nicked from under their van!

Ah!.... the anti hernia kit. I hadn't realised and I have only had ours since 2012

As soon as I saw the original post, I just knew you would be there to reply, Granny Jen!

I take comfort from the fact that there’s someone else out there that relies on the AA only....!
