Hi.

What does everyone put on the ground to cover grass inside the awning?

With thanks

I don’t know if these are the right sizes but I use the ground sheet & camping carpet thingy from decathlon.

Awning footprint and groundsheet, nothing over those and easier to sweep out.

Have got a small VW mat but find it rolls up at the edges creating a trip hazard:(
Will investigate a grounsheet and carpet, the decathlon ones seem good value.
Thanks everyone.

We use a camping cheap groundsheet first then a thicker mat with the T5 logo my daughter bought me for my birthday.
I find that even on the driest sites the groundsheet is covered in mud when we take it up and saves the mat getting really messy.
Also the thicker mat is much nicer to walk on in bare feet if the ground is stoney.

Does anybody know what size the comfortz awning floor space is? Haven't got ours to hand at the moment.
Thanks

Intrigued as to why folk feel the need for anything under the awning. I like to feel the outdoors around me when I sit under it. Plus a groundsheet is just one more thing to cart around and clean.

Because when you camp all year round and the ground looks like this it keeps things a bit cleaner. It also allows flow from awning to van in bare feet/socks.
There are 4 of us in the compact space so keeps things cleaner.
I like to step out onto dry grass in the summer but less keen on liquid mud oozing between my toes in the winter.

We have had The awning room for 7 years and mostly we have just had a groundsheet as there is nothing worse than water from summer storms soaking everything and the extra mat makes it more comfortable on stoney Spanish campsites.
Last year in Spain we had some of the worst rain and hail I have ever seen anywhere yet inside the room it was perfectly dry.
The groundsheet rolls up really small and is thrown away at the end of the season, the mat we have found a nice place to store it.

Everyone does it differently and we find this is is perfect for us.
