What tyres do I need?

I have just purchased a nice set of genuine VW alloys off a work colleague from his T5 Transporter panel van. The tyres are close to needing changing but I don't know what tyres I need to replace them with as he said I will need a different type of tyre for the Cali? Also I have gone from 16" to 17"

Any advice appreciated

Are you looking for serious winter use in which case seems to be specialist winter tyres on steels.

More off road - Michelin latitude cross

All weather - my next choice - Goodyear Vector cargo 2 or Michelin cross climate
