Hi All,
I seem to have lost a clip somehow that holds the courtesy light in by the control panel. I believe its a metal spring clip that slides into the area circled in yellow, but I cant seem to find where to get a replacement, or a part name / number to know what im looking for.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

The light stays up at the moment, but if I hit a pothole the light comes flying down.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Found a pic of the clip, but not sure where to get hold of one without buying the whole light. Maybe ill have to try creating one myself if it cant be bought seperately.

I believe its only available as a complete unit.

Double sided tape, glue or BlueTac.

Hard to get a sense of scale or how it fits in from the picture but are you sure it’s not just some sort of standard trim clip?
Seems unlikely VW would have something made specially just for that….
If you search something like “vw metal trim clip” lots come up.

Just a thought, perhaps silly but If a clip on one side works, then perhaps you could create a ledge on the clip-missing side, tucking that in first then clipping in?

I'd certainly try giving a VW main dealer a call and speaking to their parts department.

In recent weeks, I've been replacing a whole bunch of interior trim/parts and in most cases, VW sell the fixings separately, so you never know, you might be able to buy just the clips; but if they do sell them, be prepared for how much they might charge; just by way of example, the shelf clips (used under the sink/hob and in the rear cupboard) are £9 per clip.

Good luck!

Ah thanks! The other side already has a 2 little tabs that hook over the trim to click in first and then slide the other side up to secure with the spring clip, but I could maybe see if I can create something similar for the clip side as well
