Ours sleep on the rear bench downstairs, we leave it in the seat position. We put their beds on it.

Ours is a mud sponge and sleeps on a well covered back seat, not sure what will happen if we go away and the weather is so bad we can't sleep up top!

Just a piece of Dibond, with two L-profiles at the bottom to keep it between the seats and holes to slip it over the seatbelt clasps. Ours works only with the seats facing forward.

Here are some pics to clarify. The 3mm dibond shelf is 46x38cm (lxw). The alu l-profiles keep the shelf fixed between the seats. The hole wraps around the seatbelt clasp (we only have one swivel seat, you'll need 2 holes for double swivels)

When I had two they slept downstairs on swivel seats when I was upstairs, or on / next to me when I was downstairs. Lovely in the winter, but being pinned between them in the summer was too hot, I would have to shoo them onto the swivel seats during the night.
Since having 4, we haven’t slept in the camper altogether... just as well as there simply would be no sleep for me on the lower bed as they all like to stretch, kick, snore and contentedly sigh (loudly) in their sleeping bliss...

In the day, outside or in the awning, Barney likes his camp bed.



In the van we put a waterproof cover and a quilt for his bed on the passenger seat facing forward. He likes to go to bed early and appreciates his own space, so he can chill out there too in the day if he wants. He’s only got little legs so we have a “really useful box“ in between the front seats that he uses as a step, with a piece of carpet glued on the lid.
