Did you have to book campsites in advance or just arrive and get a pitch?

That's good to hear. Croatia and slovenia were stunning and so quiet. So the alps campsite we booked for a couple of nights in advance as friends were staying at the same time. It was chateau de Rochetaillée in huez. there were quite a few spaces but would be a shame not to be able to stay there. we then had a night in vicenza italy, just off the motorway and not pre booked, followed by a week at camping mon perin in Croatia we only pre booked 6 nights but stayed an extra night as it was so good pool was amazing and right on the coast. Much cheaper them France too, the additional night was only £33. Then found a campsite bear kranska in slovenia l. Would have liked to stay here longer but had to start the journey home. I'll try and find the name but it was part of a hotel complex, so a nice pool next door for a charge. Amazing holiday.
