We are thinking of making our first visit to Ireland in October. We have 5 or 6 days to travel part of the Wild Atlantic Way and any advice on which parts to head for and where is good to stay would be really appreciated.

Ring of Bera was great, Ring of Kerry horrible, Galway excellent, Burren excellent. We also liked the stretch from Cork out west and overlooking the Fastnet light. We also carried on into N Ireland - we won't go back. The Giant's Causeway was very disappointing and over commercialised. On another trip head up to Mull then take a trip out to Staffa (Fingle's Cave). This is the other end of the Causeway. Far more impressive and wow what a trip. Do it again anytime!

5 or 6 days would be perfect to do Beara and the Ring of Kerry. The Ring of Kerry can be crazy with tourists, but this should be an excellent time to go since there are less overseas visitors and much less coach traffic. Wave Crest Caravan Park is a must stay. Can also recommend staying at Creveen Lodge, and a sneaky night at the Mizen Head Signal Station.

Thank you both for taking the time to respond, it is a great help to hear what others think/have experienced.

Renvyle campsite was our favourite. Don't know if it is currently open. Super pitches with sea and mountain views.
