Window tinting

Got a California, 1998 model, and want to have the windows tinted, the Windows are double glazed glass units with the exception of the window behind the cooker, which I assume is polycarbonate. Both of the contractors I have approached have refused on the grounds that you cannot tint plastic Windows. Can anyone who has had, or done tinting themselves advise? Any advice much appreciated

I would try Shades Auto Tints in Birmingham. I don't know if they can do it, but they just spent 2 weeks finding a match for the double glazed windows on my T6 which didn't have tint from the factory. Tony the owner prides himself on solving difficult challenges and wasn't prepared to settle for anything less than a perfect match on our Cali. It now looks up to factory standard.
