Wiring

Can anybody help? A friend of mine is attempting to fit a California interior to a Transporter and wants to identify a wire. Below was his text:
"What is the purple wire for that comes out of the on board 240 V battery charger, under the fridge?
Theres a big red and a big brown which are obviously the power and Earth to the battery but I don't know what the purple one does?"
Any ideas??

Only guessing it might go to the invertor

Reply from my mate as follow:
"That's the question... I know it comes out of the inventor but I don't know where it goes to. Does it measure battery voltage and go back ? Does it just show something on the display ..."
It'd be easier if he just joined the forum!!!!! ;-))))))

Andy if you look in the download section in the vw technical manual you may find the answer
It has wiring diagrams username & password can be found in the vip lounge

I think I spoke to him earlier, on the wiring diagram for the chassis number that he gave me there was no purple wire list unfortunately.
