Reading threads I find some snobbery in DSG owners? Am I reading too much into this?

I refuse to talk to people on camp sites that have a manual gearbox, scum of the earth
So do you look in their windows to check:D

No need to look in Windows, they arrive on site looking exhausted and constantly try and turn right on the way to the shower block due to the over developed left leg.

Goodness,

If I had a manual gearbox then I would have to take the butler away with me :shocked

Simply would not do to be seen changing the gears myself !

I Love the banter you folks have....gets me chuckling all the time. :thumb

On the plus side we don't have to alter our route to avoid roundabouts :D

Oh, you're supposed to go round them. :)

....are there still people shifting gears...:Nailbiting
What's wrong with the world?

Serious , the Cali is the sixt car i ever bought and the first without a gearstick ( don't dear to say automatic becouse i'l be getting loads of critics over me ...)
Must say i love it , on "this" verhicle .....the Cali .
Note: nothing against manuals but if i would be buying a new Cali now , DSG again

How do you manage to change gear with one hand and dangle the other one out of the window to signal with?

Or are they fitting indicators to manuals now? :shocked

I think I'm in a minority (probably just me) who's has DSG and doesn't really like it. Too much turbo lag. It's not up to the standard of my previous Discovery 4 auto box. But I'm getting used to it. Mine was a dealer rental vehicle and had I had the choice, I'd have gone for 4 motion in preference to DSG. So no snobbery from these parts. We don't turn away manuals from East Fleet. ;)

Snobbery? Na...just leaves left foot free to kick wife when she argues with my satnav on a roundabout. Lol.

Can't beat it on long journeys.... We only drive auto's as himself doesn't like manual.

I've got DSG and I can certainly tell you I'm not a snob

Manual? Did not know there was such a thing? How does that work then... good grieve they must be the people parked in the lower field!

Lol, seriously I've had various VAG motors and would not buy one without DSG now. Manual is appropriate (e.g. in my Defender) but flick to D, engage cruise and away you go. It's entirely personal choice - one is not better than the other, I just choose to take it easy...

So I have read about Beach snobbery
And DSG snobbery

At least there is no 4 motion snobbery on the forum..........is there??

Viva la difference !!

DSG owners must have a lower IQ than manual drivers. See we have to count to 6 rather than choosing the letter D for ??? Shall I stand in the corner now?

No. DSG owners have to be able to count to 12. Unlike Manual owners who can only manage single digits. :bananadance

:shocked

You try choosing between

Proceed
NO!!!!!!!
Drive or
Stop!

Ever such a complex task

Oh, of course, the 12 second lag for roundabouts and traffic lights :D

I'll find out how true this is when I get mine!
