Do unconfirmed build dates tend to change much?

After a couple of months of order accepted status I found I have a unconfirmed build date of wk15 today.

Do these dates tend to more around much? i.e. Has the boat sailed on me getting one before 1st April or could it move in (or out?)

Week 15 is the middle of April then its got be built then shipped, taken to the dealership then PDI'd so if that date sticks you can expect delivery sometime May/June.
You have definately missed the 1st April deadline for the VED increase.
They do move around but you need a build week of 7 or earlier I would think.

Yeah, not looking good. Thought I'd read about someone's order jumping forward 6 or 7 weeks so I'll keep crossing my fingers

Dates change all the time, my original date was week 50, then 4,5,7,8,and finally 10.

Only after a spec change did is settle down to week 2. VWCC have now confirmed that the build started today as planned, so delivery should be in 4 - 6 weeks depending on boat schedules and PDI

Out of interest what colour did you order ?

Went Acapulco blue in the end. How about you?

Out of interest what was the spec change that brought it forward 8 weeks?

Keep thinking I should add the shower, but wouldn't want it to go back any further

We changed the colour from Bamboo Green to Candy White, and the build week changed.

While VWCC would not admit it, rumour suggested that the Bamboo Green colour was the cause of the long lead time

My dealer (Birmingham) told me that Bamboo Green was a major issue (back in December). I seem to recall that a change to Candy White can have the effect of bringing build forwards (not always as it will depend on other options chosen).

Also, don't forget............dealer allocation!!

My colour is "Blackberry". I hope this doesn't cause any build delays. They could at least advise us of a colour issue.
P.S. Only ordered my Cali Ocean on the 20th December '16 so it will be summer '17 I guess before I get my baby.

I ordered in November and was given a provisional delivery between August and October...

By the dealer or VW?

I ordered November and only got a provisional date a few days ago which I guess means my dealer had used all his Q4 allocation and VW only scheduled the order this quarter, sounds like your dealer doesn't have any Q416 or Q117 allocation, so VW won't give you a provisional date until Q2.

My 'Blackberry' was initially given a build date of week 50 (2016) then told week 3 (2017). Next told it had gone into production week 51 (2016) haven't heard anything since.

I'm a bit confused about the message from my dealer. It said

ORDER ACCEPTED - Status 10 Unconfirmed build WK

Maybe a blond question, but does this mean Week 10?

We have had two Calis ordered and delivered during 2016 and both arrived within a week or so of the original unconfirmed date. We were fortunate, but it can happen.

Our dealer sent us a 'What Happens Next' booklet after we placed our order. Status 10 is 'Production Schedule - Your order has now been allocated a provisional build week, which will be confirmed four weeks prior to build.'

We ordered Cali on 19 October and were given a provisional build week of 13-19 March. When our dealer checked the order this week the provisional date has now been brought forward to 6-10 March. He reckons we should get a confirmed date by the end of this month/beginning of February.

The VW build status codes are as follows:

00 = Assigned to factory order no production week scheduled
10 = Factory ordered with production week scheduled
20 = Factory ordered production week confirmed
30 = In transit from factory
36 = Vehicle in port of exit – not released
38 = Vehicle in port of exit – released to shipping
39 = Vehicle on ship
40 = Vehicle arrival at UK port
60 = Dispatched to Dealer
70 = Vehicle arrived at Dealer

The week no. is missing in the note from the dealer. Suggest you ask the question of him. "What is the week number?"
