I read on the forum that folks were using an IKEA chopping board on top of the cutlery tray as a way to have somewhere to put their mug of tea when the hob/sink cover was 'up'.. I found another way to achieve the same goal, perhaps with a bit more flexibility..........

I use the cutting board idea but the boxes seem to fit in there beautifully ! The lower shell looks to be very well set out can you tell me what the tall one is on the right hand lower shelf ?

Our lower shelf needs some work an I think this could be the solution. Looks like I'll be going to Ikea again ;-)

Thanks for those great ideas! Could you list the Ikea codes of all these bits here? Makes it easier to write a shopping list...

Here you go
Parts as follow
The smaller box and lid : Kuggis 26x35x8cm 502.823.04 £4.50
Flexible chopping boards : Finfordela 2 pack 303.358.98 £1
(Need to be cut to fit, with scissors)
The larger box and lid : Kuggis 26x35x15cm 602.802.05 £6.50

Oh I do love storage solutions! Many thanks for this - annoyingly the tall box isn't available on line. Must find someone who's going as we're quite a way from Ikea. Though we might call in at the Tours shop on our way back to Calais on Friday ...

Bought two of the Kuggis boxes they are a fabulous fit in the right hand cupboard and pushed over the right. I would take a picture but its dark out there at the mo and very quite on this site this weekend.

Well, normally a Citizen from Argos, but mine's a Brandrup Cali-specific version costing ten times as much ;)

Good storage information and tempting. I store a porta-potti on the right hand side of my cupboard so my question is "will the Kuggis storage set up work just as well in the left hand side cupboard"?
Thanks

We have a small Kuggis with a large one on top in the bottom of the LHS with space for some storage boxes at the side. The larger box doesnt have a lid and is used for fruit and veg.
Topshelf small Kuggis with large Kuggis on top, Aldi fridge box at side with plates, dishes etc.
Sorry no photos, everything is stripped out to find an annoying squeak coming from near the water tank

Good luck with the squeak hunt. Would jokingly suggest a mouse but people on here have had horrible-mouse-related problems, so I won't :(

In the kitchen cupboards there are 6 x 10 mm bolts that hold the kitchen to the sidewall. Make sure they are tight.:thumb

The squeak seems to be from the water tank, because if you push/pull the tank by hand you get the same noise. Its not the gas bottle, as that's already been taken out

Thanks for top tip - went to IKEA yesterday to buy the boxes & chopping boards. Came back with boxes, soap dispensers, bags, plants & about 1,000 meatballs!! That said the boxes, lid & chopping boards all work really well. Thanks again.

Happy to do that when I'm next in my van. I think it's this one.....

I've had that one a while and I may end up using it as bin behind the seat. It's JUST a fraction on the tight side...still works but just a fraction tight....so I may stand my (ikea) cereal / pasta dispensers there.[/QU

Sad to report that this item's is no longer available as Ikea - it's out of stock nationwide and

"This product will be leaving the range shortly and has limited possibility to be back in stock."

thanks for the video and idea.....like more space being created and adapted ......the smaller boxes also in white that sit to the right of your top and bottom shelf i can't see them in that range? are they match range or from else where as Ikea online not showing them? thank in advance for more assistance :)

Hi Daisy. I think we established earlier up the thread that the one on the right on the lower shelf is no longer available. In fact it's a little too perfect a fit (too tight) so has been swapped for cereal containers atm.
The upper right ones.... I'll get you the code. I think they are available, and the are proving handy for mugs, tea bags etc that you are always reaching for.
