looks like no hybrids are ready...........only more assists options, so I guess it’s better to wait a year or two to order a new Cali.
Mercedes just came out with a diesel hybrid for one of their models, so I was hoping they would use the same engine in their V clas but they didn’t. :Nailbiting

From what i read about VW vans, I dont think they are bringing any hybrids outs, just pure electric vans due to the amount of money to spend on newer combustion tech seems daft, as combustion are slowly being phased out so using their resources to building better electric tech instead. Think Ford are bringing out a PHEV transit this year. Make an interesting conversion for Wellhouse, proper niche market whilst waiting for electric tech and support to catch up.

Good evening,

I wonder how the T6.1 California will look like, if there will be more changes in the "living area" than the ones we saw already on the T6.1.

I don't have the money to change, but what I know so far I love the new dashboard and the front. Let's see when the T6.1 will appear on the German VW California configurator.

Regards,
Eberhard

Well I think hybrids are here for many years to come, especially for cars like ours that we use dayli and for long distances.
I was just hoping 2020 would be the year for VW and Benz but I’ll have to wait.

Oh yes, i agree, i think hybrids are a good idea, just read dont think vw are going down that route :thumb

Spoke to VW customer services today, not about engine availability but about the t6.1 california if it will happen and when they expect it, they said yes, but usually will be in the order of transporter, shuttle then california and to reckon about a year before it realistically will be available as they meet demand for the transporter etc first as those are the biggest seller. As someone wanting a cali now and not having one that puts a bit of a spanner in the works... hmmm!! Makes we wonder how much i'd lose if I buy a new one and trade it in in circa 12 months time, maybe 2 years as I'd be happy to wait a little for the new model to come out and having initial teething problems remedied....

It does nothing that a van doesn't already do. I don't get the excitement. Is it just me missing something? I saw a pic of a bloke driving his electric van in the rain. He said wow thank god for my electric van in this weather. Then I thought I'm sure a diesel van would have kept him just as dry

I'm no sparky but I was told don't lick your finger and put it in a plug socket.

You could buy a second hand one in the meantime and trade it in in a couple of years for a 6.1?? They hold their value phenomenally well as I'm sure you know. If you buy 2nd hand you may avoid any drop in value when you drive off the forecourt, which admittedly with the Cali is pretty low
