Currently shopping around for potentially my new T6 purchase to replace my beloved T5.1 but finding some have limited time abroad. ie Adrian Flux, my current insurer, says 90 days then additional charge. I might be planning longer so anyone know who could quote me?

Caravan & Motorhome Insurance - 270 days outside the U.K.

Always wondered about this. How can they prove you have been abroad for more than 90 days?

They always do there best to worm out of paying so maybe look at your travel documents, after they've looked at MOT's ,tyres etc etc!!

90 days in one trip seems to be normal period, I've had insurance both with cars and the Cali and been told that to go for longer I would have to come back to UK on a return trip to reset the 90 day period.
I think, note think, that it's something to do with how long UK Insurance can cover a vehicle when out of UK. It can vary with the Insurance Company.
One Company said that it was an accumulated 90 days eg 3 x 30 day trips and that was it.

Safeguard give 365 day cover.
Comfort give 9 months cover

Thanks.. try both today. 90 days is useless!
Caravan & Motorhome Club now 365 days.

ÂŁ631 Having a laugh that lot!!
You get what you pay for. Having had a claim with them in the past that was painless and dealt with promptly it suits me, and one of the few that didn’t have a milage restriction/year or any other restrictions such as a Tracker or 48hr unattended parking restriction.
Having said that I pay 2/3rds of that.

I insured through C&MC.

After 30 years of crash free motoring, two claims in a year and the renewal premium tripled.

One claim was settled (100% in my favour) after two years four months, the other claim still not settled after two years and three months.

But whose fault is that, your Insurance company or the other side. In my case the responsible party could not be identified and everything was settled within 6 weeks to my satisfaction plus an apology that it had taken so long. Premium went up by ÂŁ25 at following renewal.

In the first case - where I was swiped by a driver nipping down the inside of me to reach an empty bus lane a little further on - much of the delay was due to a basic error by my insurance company. Despite my having photographed the driver and his vehicle, giving a clear record of his registration number, they spent 15 months pursuing the registered keeper of another vehicle with a similar but different registration number.

In the second case - where a driver, probably deliberately, let their vehicle roll backwards into mine to, in what I believe to be a failed bid to extort cash from me - my insurers have outsourced recovery to a third party as they lack the expertise to make the recovery themselves from Polish insurers.

I don't feel that my blaming the C&MC for the long delay in recovery is misplaced. I am grateful that they have the second matter listed as "no fault" even though it is "not settled" on the strength of the letter I have from Swidnica Police dated December 2017 saying that the result of their investigation is that the other driver is wholly responsible for the crash.
