California Club Meet Updated Information: Looe Meet - Oct 2020

We booked. This will be be our first Cali meet and well overdue considering we will have had our Beach for 3 years by then.

Can't get my head around the early May bank holiday being on a Friday though. I was thinking this meet would run into a bank holiday Monday!
That was the intention when first planned, but the Government went and moved the bank holiday!!

Bank holiday is the week after to coincide with VE day. Maybe we will get another one at the end of January.

Booked. See you there Martin, Sam, Richard and Jo....JG n Sand
Ha. See you there on the Friday. Get those real ales in the fridge

Cycling into Looe would be easy enough, but the return may be a little taxing going uphill!

It's a great area for Biking (& Surfing). I Spent 3 years in Plymouth.

I was getting quite excited, and then I read this:
"This is a 70.24Km bike ride in Looe, United Kingdom. The bike ride has a total ascent of 1205.98m".

Not really suitable for a five and six year old with their dad. Maybe we could manage it on the tandem triplet, but with two lumps of deadweight on the back who only push the pedals around when they can be bothered, I'm not sure I want to cycle the equivalent of one and a fifth kilometers vertically upward!

And we're in too. Will have a 5 year old with us so might not be the most sociable, but someone will have an adventure :)

My wife who only works for money on Fridays, has just tried to get leave for Friday 1st May in order that we may try to attend this meet (subject to there still being any places left). Unfortunately her request was refused as that weekend appears to be heavily over subscribed presumably because people think that it includes a Bank holiday on Monday the 4th May. However we have just discovered that it doesn't. The government appears to have moved that Monday Bank holiday back to the Friday 8th May in order to mark the 75th aniversary of VE day. Are you all aware?

Your calenders and diaries may say bank holiday on the 4th May but they are now wrong.

As for us, in light of this fact our grandkids won't have parents at home on the 4th May we would have to leave on the Sunday to be back for them on the Monday and this is after arriving late on the Saturday. So sadly we won't be attending.

For those of you that are attending I hope that you all enjoy a great time with the sun shining all weekend. :thumb

Thanks for the information/confirmation. We were always going to be leaving on Sunday morning - ferry to catch on Monday!

Sorry you won't be able to join us. They moved the bank holiday just after I set up this meet, but we decided to go ahead anyway. There is the 2 night option for people who have to go to work on the Monday.

Thanks Lulu,
We'd love to attend but we would have to change ponies about a dozen times to get to Looe and that's after leaving home on Friday evening. We'd then have to leave after only a day so I'm afraid it's not viable for us.
Have a great time.
Best wishes,
Paul

Just like the footpath fromTenby to campsite
That was a killer on return trip to camp - took it VERY slow with controlled breathing certainly sorted the fit from unfit out but enjoyed Tenby immensely
