I am from South Africa and will visit Germany from 3 February to 15 February 2020.
I love camping in my own 2019 Cali Coast in South Africa and therefore want to hire a Cali in Germany for above period.
Our problem is that our South African currancy is very weak (R16 for 1Euro) therefore I need to find a good deal.
Anybody that can help me with finding a Cali for hiring?
Any advice on campingsites in Germany?
Any app or websites where I can find campingsites?

thanks for the info.
Do you perhaps know if there is a website with all camping grounds in Germany?

Check out eurocampings.co.uk /eurocampings.eu . Many options in Germany.

I don't know any particular website but using google maps
with the area you want to be will throw up a few campsites,
then research from there.

My posts always have to have moderator approval so it takes
ages.
I think I've been blackballed :D

Hi there,

I live in Hamburg and there are quite a few hire companies based here, Berlin and Munich specific for VW Californias. They are called ‘Bulli’s here, so you should google search using that term also. You should expect to pay 75€ per day or slightly cheaper for longer hires.

For camping sites or an overnight ‘Stellplatz‘ I use Apps by CamperContact and Park4Night which have all you need for info, location, reviews and costs.

Where will you be visiting?

Cheers

Thank you hapless Hamburger
From 4 February first Munich, Regensburg, Dresden, Wolfsburg, Hannover, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and back to Munich on 16 february for departure back to South Africa.
I prefer to stay in small towns close to bigger towns for better countryside atmosphere..
I tried to rent a camper through Shareacamper but they dont rent cars to non european citizens like me.
I had to find a new place where I can get a camper for better price.- I will use your advice and google "bulli's"in Munich.
Happiness to you

Looks like a complete tour of Germany!
If you’re starting down south, don’t forget there are some amazing lower alpine routes and Black Forest towns are particularly spectacular. I plan to follow the ‘Romantische Straße’ this summer, see link below. This website also has some other suggestions..
