Keeping it California - Last Chance to VOTE

What ever happens I just wish that we can lose the pointless displays of aggression and show each other a bit more respect. Remember, it's OK to agree not to agree.

Final point, some seem to be saying that a vote for YES is effectively censorship but you wouldn't join a Politics Forum and expect to discuss VW Californias would you?
@Borris - always a voice of reason. Thank you.
Even if I don’t agree, you are always so polite and respectful. I look forward to camping again with you both and Simon in due course.

Likewise.

Keep safe or aware or alert whatever it is now.

Apologies but I think you need to read the whole thread and issues mentioned , such as innocent threads that cross the line being deleted or heavily censored simply to remove content not deemed correct.
but if all that was done was to delete or ban PURELY political, covid or brexit focussed threads, probably at inception then I would agree with you.. unfortunately that does not look the intention unless the originator of the proposal who has remained very quiet on the subject would care to elaborate on his admittedly unclear and aggressive original post.
Maybe we are all misunderstanding which he can now clarify?

I’m sorry that you feel the original post was unclear and aggressive. I did not interpret it that way. As there have been a few posts that have become inflammatory / personal / rude (always a subjective rather than objective point of view), the moderators made this post to canvass opinion on how to proceed. Hence also whilst they have remained quiet so as not to influence the thread, but only to moderate inappropriate behaviour.
I hope that helps answer your question.

Must admit over past few weeks have looked a lot on the Covid threads esp related to stay in...
it's been interesting to see so many viewpoints..and it certainly at times did does not feel like the cosy Cali forum in those areas to me .. but if they are in clear areas I can look ..or not...
I guess people needed outlets in difficult times...

Not really, Jen was at pains to point out earlier that it is not the moderators that made this proposal, so I don’t understand why you as a moderator are answering my post on behalf of the originator. Can you speak for him?
Perhaps better that he himself now clarifies.
The thread has as can be seen become contentious as a result of unclear and I repeat aggressive initial post, or perhaps at this stage it should be deleted along with the misguided vote in line with the proposals ironically
Enough feedback has now been given, positive and constructive from many different sources, very little of which ironically supporting the proposal but many concerns for sure.time to come out and clarify preferably before the vote and in time to make a difference.

Whether it is unclear or not it's what you've got so lets just stop debating points and move on.

What discussions, what excitement, for such a subject! Is it typically English? I think to view again the exchanges about the b *** it. I really love you but you are so complicated in my belgian eyes when the time to choose and decide is there.

Often made me think about this one

Well, I’ve learnt something new on this thread.
I’ve learnt I can ignore whole sub forums, I didn’t know that.
A few clicks later and I’ve removed some of what I would consider dross from my unread feed and the place feels a less cluttered place to be.
I’ve personally chosen to ignore a few individual threads in the past, but armed with a new filter the forum feels more like what I joined up for.

I like it! Is that called "Doing a Boris?" (Oops, have I strayed into political territory?)

It was not @GrannyJen who removed your post, but myself.
Have a good evening.

Perhaps you would like to show the post and explain why it is deleted
Clearly my contribution to this thread is finished. Enjoy all anf
D best wishes with the vote and whatever subsequent actions

Thank you Brendan,
Actually I have read the whole thread and am very aware of the complex issues discussed. I'm sorry you disagree with me but I can live with that. How we have been dealing with each others opinions is part of the reason for this thread, along with the perceived drift away from this forum's raison d'etre.

May I respectfully suggest that you re-read the OPs original post. IMO his post was clear and succinct and left little doubt as to his views on the subject. I think a more appropriate word would be frustration not "aggression" and as a co-owner of this forum I'm sure he has every right to make his/their view point clear.

IMO it is not abnormal that a political or health aspect is mentioned in a post when this has an impact on the use of what brings us together, the California.
But this forum is not the place to then make it the battlefield of these political discussions.
When the subject drifts and has no more connection with the camper, then it is no longer in its place.
