Noticed the rubber door seal has worn the paint away to bare metal at the very end of the bottom runner. The seal doesn't appear to be misaligned but also see there is existing helicopter tape in a similar spot. Vehicle is only 15 months old , has anyone else experienced this? It will need priming and touching up but obviously a contact /friction point as the door terminates.

15 months old? I'd take it back to VW to fix as a warranty claim.

Wanted to update on the outcome of my VW van centre visit with the attached problem. This I am told is the result of a misaligned rubber door seal according to the garage and would not be covered under warranty as there is no failure in the body work. It was suggested that VW claims would knock it back as the door seal 'could have been kicked', however when you look at the bottom of the seal it just doesn't seem to fit. I was shown a photo of a corrected fitted sliding door seal which was say 5-10mm higher. Net result being the garage has agreed out of 'good will' to re-paint and replace door seal on this 1 year old Ocean. Anyone else out here who notices any rubbing suggest you remove door seal and re-position before it goes to bare metal.IMG-3360.jpgIMG-3358.jpg

Thanks for flagging this @Cloudbreak
Just had a look at mine and whilst the rubber seems to be fitted correctly and there’s no paintwork damage I can see ‘witness marks’ where the seal appears to make contact with the paintwork in that area. I’ll keep an eye on it and endeavour to keep the area dirt/grit free until I’m sure it’s OK.
