New T6.1 order delays

Hi all
i saw a message on my phone asking for my Cali spec in this thread, but i cant see it with my laptop. I am still learning how the site works, so I appologise If I am not using it properly for now. The order form is filed, but here is the rough spec.

- California Coast standard French model (roof mechanism is electronic like the Ocean on the French version, i believe its manual in the UK, and electronic as an option) +
- Ascot grey
- Automatic DSG7, 150HP
- 4 Motion
- Reinforced suspension
- Diff Block
- Privacy Windows
- Wood panel like flooring in the style of the cupboards
- Rear view camera
- Standard wheels that are different to those on the UK models
- Black awning store
- Black protection thingies where you load the baggage
- Alarm system
- 5 year guarantee
- Some app simultaneously on the vehicle and my phone. Basically if its stolen, the App follows the Cali's whereabouts and informs me...me leaves home with a rifle...kidding

I think thats it. I did not want the digital cockpit, I guess I like the old fashioned dials and what not. I did not take any advanced info centre or lane assist stuff, I was not interested enough to pay the additional cash for that.

We're in the same boat (could be literally) - was informed via VW chat this morning that our ocean is literally on the ocean: "I can confirm that your order was put on the MALACCA HIGHWAY ship yesterday. It usually takes 2 to 3 days to arrive at the UK port. The UK port of Sheerness is the next destination for your order". Ordered late November, build week 2021.
You must be so excited!

Ordered a new coast 31st December. Pick it up next Friday.
Never bothered with vw chat, just called the dealer every 4 weeks. His information has been spot on every time

@DP009 update - Think we must indeed have been on the same ship - VW chat confirmed our vehicle was on a ship which departed on Monday afternoon, and it looks like Malacca highway docked in the UK yesterday... Exciting to think our vans are in the country at last!

Go for it - I was pestering them daily online.

Our van took a week to go from being at Grimsby to Stratford (where our dealer does all PDI stuff). It is there now and about to be moved to Coventry for us, where we are picking it up from on the 19th. We could have had it sooner but we are on holiday at the moment.

haha, yes - I pestered them at 9.30pm last night, and was amazed they were still answering!!
They confirmed we were on a boat which left on Monday afternoon - think the same one @DP009 is on... and looks like she's arrived in the UK now.

Pick up on 19th - Wow, what a great way end to your holiday - sooo exciting! Post pictures please when you get her/him! (I can't call Calis 'it'! - they have too much personality to me!)

It’s a 150 Ocean in Indium Grey which I’m still happy with but I saw an Ascot Grey in the flesh the other day and loved it!

I had exactly the same experience. My new Ocean in Indium Grey was written off at the dealership last month. I subsequently saw an Ascot Grey Cali in the flesh at a campsite.... and have ordered a new Beach Camper in Ascot. The colour looked wonderful in real life. It looked somehow contemporary in a very understated retro way?!?!?!?I know that sounds naff, but it's true.

FYI Week 23 builds. My Ocean hit status 30 yesterday ‘in transit from factory’.

All being well at remaining stages could be up to 3 weeks to keys.

She's on the way!!! - I've been watching all the factory closure updates on here anxiously, but am chuffed to hear via VW Chat that our Coast (ordered mid January) is on her way! Quote: "The vehicle is on board ship and en route to UK"...

Anyone else here on the same boat, or know any more details about what to expect now timewise for delivery? Also wondering if it's possible to track the ship (I don't know the boats name, any ideas?)

I’ve got a week 24 build that’s status 38. At port of exit cleared for shipping. From this point I’m expecting 3 weeks

I’ve just rang my van centre and my van is sat in a closed factory at stage 5 of 8, factory is due to reopen next week and expected collection of mid/late August.

He also confirmed it’s a MY22

Nope that’s exactly how I saw the Ascot grey too. I’m still happy with Indium Grey but the Ascot grey is lovely. How long do you have to wait for your beach?

I was told the factory is currently closed and due to open Monday.

He didn’t know what the MY22 changes were.

This may or may not help…

I was status 20 stage 5 out 8 on the 5th July and status 30 by the 12th July.

I conclude the factory is no longer closed - I think this closure info is from week 25/26.

Ordered last week at Eurovans Crawley through drivethedeal. Told it would be March/April 22. Back of the queue again!! Nowhere near week 29. With the Ascot, I fancy sourcing some black 18 inch Springfields to put on it - like 66tim99 will have with the Sports Pack (not an available option on the Beach)

Model years 21/22 slight tweaks between years, no one has confirmed changes as of yet but increased app control of functions has been mentioned and possibly wireless charging via the holder next to gear stick but that’s only a guess.

Dealer said MY22 change over started in early July.

Manufacturers Year 2021 / 2022

Builds usually from 1st July each year.

MY22 changes are limited apparently. Can be positive or negative.

There’s also a seatbelt alarm to alert the driver when those in the rear are not strapped in apparently

Same stage 5, so yours should be MY22 as well. I’m hoping for it to arrive mid Aug as I have a site booked in the lakes
