Ludwig is now being followed around by Betty, our new-to-us Go-Pod Micro Caravan (found on eBay a couple of days ago).

Our lanky teenage offspring now do not fit in the Cali, so this is our latest attempt to still manage family camping without resorting to a great white or a LWB.

Plan ‘A’ was to use a TentBox on our car but then the car gearbox broke just in time for the summer holidays and cannot be fixed for ages while waiting for the shortages on microprocessors to be solved.

Plan ‘B’ is now Betty the micro caravan, TBH am terrified of towing - particularly reversing, but she is small and light so hopefully will be manageable!

Because I don't function well without quality coffee. Espresso and pour-over hand grinder. I'll be using the coffee in a Picopresso once its restocked.Screen Shot 2021-08-01 at 3.21.10 PM.png

Nor me tried a few things, but coffe always goes off before ive used it, so trying thees which arnt bad at all individually packed so should last. Not sue about grinding in the van!

Store the good quality, freshly roasted beans in the fridge in vacuum containers. Will stay fresh for an extended period.

Expensive day today! BlackVue DR900X 2CH front and rear dashcams as well as a Westfalia detachable towbar. Both fitted on my driveway by SatNav Systems. First impressions of both are good, although I’m still getting to grips with the Parking Mode settings on the BlackVue :)

As a bit of background - I didn’t think I needed a towbar when I ordered the van. I had a tailgate bike rack on order but it was out of stock when I collected the Cali from the dealer. This proved to be a blessing as we were able to use the Cali without the bike rack on our first camping trip, and quickly identified that having 4 bikes on the tailgate would be a dealbreaker. We found we needed access to the boot when stopping off etc.. This prompted me to research a retrofit towbar to enable us to get a tilting Thule Velospace XT3. With hindsight, I would have ordered from the factory, but you live and learn! That said, I may not even have my van yet if I had of specc’d the towbar. Who knows?!

My next purchase will be the bike rack. It’s an expensive game, this!

How Did you find the service from Sat Nav System ?

I used them three years ago and found them to be superb, so I have recommended them since

Really impressed to be honest. Good communication in terms of discussing requirements etc. Then today, the 2 chaps seemed excellent and got the job done nicely. First impressions are very positive. I found out about them on here, so kudos to the community!

Hi,
Which version is it please and also, do you have the socket with protective covering?
@RSMarco , it is the Milwaukee M12FIW38-202X M12 FUEL 3/8" Impact Wrench -
I got the bundle with 2 x 2.o a/h batteries. So far, happy with it.

On sockets - I have two Halfords Advanced 17 and 19 inch standard sockets that I plan to use. Will need to be careful with them. Do have a set of sockets with the protective covering on the cards.

PS: On the tool bundle - got a really large case with it as well which is quite useless.

Could not get items from Germany in November last year. The company refused to sell into uk used Brexit as the reason. So tried to buy from UK. Last week saw the shelf I had originally wanted from Germany available from a Belgian supplier. No hassle came in a week and cheaper than from the German supplier. Now fitted really strong and neat finish. Looking forward to a day out in Portsmouth at the kite festival on Sunday to try it out.

We have that shelf @This Eva and find it really useful. Obviously any tall items have to be removed before lowering the bed but we bought some low profile plastic storage containers from Dunelm that live there permanently. We also added some of that non-slip matting that the Club shop sells.

Always wanted an easy and accessible way of having a cuppa coffee when travelling. "Accessible" was a very important factor - translated as - able to reach easily in the driving position with both armrests in use.

After much research - a generic folding cup holder off ebay and a quad-lock mount did the trick.

A quad-lock wall mount adaptor on the side panel.

The cup holder can be clipped on to the wall mount adapter

The travel mug fits in well

and the most important aspect - the hand reaches correctly and easily when driving

PXL_20210807_072032755.jpg

and best of all, can be folded away when not in use ... or completely removed.

The two quad-lock adapters can be reused ... and at £5 the cup holder can be replaced if it breaks (but it is decent quality and will not break easily).

Very Happy with the end result. :thumb

if this is good also whilst driving, it resolves the only shortcoming of the T6 comfort dash, i.e. lack of a solid , right size cup holder.
would you be extremely kind and measure the diameter of the hole and of the round holder below where the cup would sit ?

planning one on the passenger side too ?

Agree @Calimili , one of the key shortcomings of the Cali. Even with the cupholder on top of the dash, you have to reach to get to it. This one - don't even have to move an inch.

On the measurements, see pics. .IMO, the bottom does not matter too much. One of my water bottles has a larger base but it's sits well.

The top is 7.5 cm.
The bottom is 6.25 cm

A Costa cup sits well.
My water bottle sits in place. 300 mls yesterday and it was all good.

After getting a back in stock notification from campervan bits for the Vango air hex for £999 then lowered to £750. I had a look around and saw it on very.com for £759 but they offered 20% off for new customers.

I ordered it and didn't have much hope that the order would be satisfied. But it came in 3 days.

Super pleased!

Looks like it's showing out of stock now but worth looking around.Screenshot_20210808-123707.jpg
