Failte - Welcome

Lovely looking Cali! Consultations
Hope you can get the inner fittings sorted without much delay, making a mental note now for thorough check when we take delivery!

We ordered ours through Frank Keane in Liffey Valley, they’ve assured us we won’t be affected by any price increase but seem to be positive it will keep build week of CW15.

I was surprised to see the Coast had fully gone from the configurator but they mentioned unlikely it will be back anytime before 2023 (seems from other forums it might not at all) so I’m glad after 2 months of debating it, we went for it.

A little background on us.
We are a family with a very excited soon to be a 6 yr old son. We are from the Wexford area.
We did some camping over the last couple of years mainly due to COVID-19 restrictions. We all loved it and stayed in some amazing campsites got to explore and visit parts of Ireland we would never had done if we had went on our usual holidays away.
I am a keen photographer and a camper was always a dream but the Mrs. was always saying wait until we are older.
From our camping expensive I know that the time is right for us now as our son would love every trip I'm sure if we waited and he was a young teen he wouldn't want to travel with us and we wouldn't leave without him. So we bit the bullet last June and ordered an ocean edition from a very nice sales rep from Frank Keane in Liffey Valley.
Our experience with our sales rep has been very good, he was very helpful with all our questions and he keeps us updated each month.
We have a build date of week 16.
I had asked if there was going to be any price increase and he said no that the price was the price at booking.
We where surprised with the time we have to wait on delivery but I know we are all in the same boat. It would have been nice to have it for the Easter break and I'm hopeful that we will have it for the summer.
Look forward to hearing from other Irish Calli owners or soon to be owners.
See you on the road soon

Dear @Irelandcali,

Nice vehicle! I like the red colour.

I bought my T6 Ocean and GC 600 from Frank Keane in Liffey Valley.

I had a lot of issues with the GC 600 which I blame Volkswagen Germany big time for those problems. But the support and help from FK Service in Liffey Valley was wonderful. All the issues was not their fault. They had to deal with a shi... product. But they were very patient and supportive all the time.

Depending where you live FK Liffey Valley might be an option for you. If this is the case PM me and I can provide you with more Information.

Regards,
Eberhard
Thanks @Eber123 but dealer is sorting it, not a big issue at all - just a bit of glue for the door and can just screw in the safe, so just have to wait for parts.

Pretty much the same as us, have a 7 year old who will get enjoyment out of this now - when he is is in secondary school he doesn't want to be trapped in a van with us!
He has already started doing his homework in the van.
The price we ageed last January (2021) was the price we paid this week, no incease.

Lovely colour van you went for.
I like the idea of homework in the van... A little peace and quiet around the house

Can i ask did you pay the addeed VRT as per Budget in Oct. I've come accross two owners who paid the agreed price when they ordered. Our dealer has said that the VRT increase will affect us . so just trying to get a sample of new vans picked up since start of year that did or did not pay the extra cost.
Yes, I did pay last year's VRT. I ordered in December 2020 so the dealer offered right away because of the long waiting time, I hope this helps!

we finally got good news. our "Bobbyjean" has landed in Cork Port today and is awaiting to be cleared and transported to the dealer in Limerick where it has to be checked, prepped, could be another week or more, but at least it's in the country and now planning our first trip as well as completing the sale of our VW T4 "Jessie". Roll on 2021

Great news..
Can I ask when did you order and was it an ocean?
Can't wait to see some photos. Best of luck so exciting.

We ordered a Beech at first back at end of dec 2020. Then we realised we might miss tge cooking and storage so changed the order to a coast, bayleaf green and white top, when we were told there would be a long wait. Extras were aux heater, laminated windows, tow bar. Dealer was Hogans in limerick and very helpful.

I didn't hear from our Sales rep end of June with his monthly update.
We had an original build week of 20 then week 16, i called him this morning and he said that the build date is removed on my order, said not to panic but my heart dropped. Anyone else get news like this?
We ordered June 21.

No, had the date move around a few times, but not 'disappear' Maybe just doing a mass update and removed all the dates as they work on it?

Got to chat with sale's rep again today and he confirmed that we are down for build week 17 but that could still move back or forward.
He said there is a glitch in VW system and it's still not showing a build date.
Really hoping to have it for June.

Finally "Bobbyjean" has arrived at dealers and got to see it today, it real it does exist, 13 months waiting. wont be ready for collection til Tuesday after getting service and valet. Roll on camping trips.
