Gas hob kettle and stovetop coffee

Need to know the bestest kettle and stovetop coffee maker please.
Not feeling the Chinese Amazon tat tbh
 
Assuming you’re askign for two things, not an all in one…

We have the Outwell Whistling kettle - we had a cheap one at first and I threw it away, absolute rubbish. The Outwell is great.

For coffee I have the AeroPress, but if it’s the bestest stovetop you want it has to be Bialetti, also on Amazon.

We have a ridge monkey kettle and an aero press. The Low profile square kettle would be great except the square lid sometimes falls into the kettle body.
Aero press is perfect, quick, easy to clean if you’re into that sort of thing.

We have the Outwell collapsing as well (for some reason or another we ended up with 4 kettles in the pre-delivery excitement) and the size is great but the lack of a whistle meant we just leave it at home now.

I agree, it’s a lovely machine but the quality of the coffee rather depends on the beans and water that you use. Do have any recommendations?
 
Most times when we camp, we have EHU. So we use a 2 litre electric kettle, from our tent days, plus a £5 cafetière from John Lewis. For times we are cooking on gas, we’ve a collapsible Outwell 2.5 litre kettle. It has no whistle, but it’s way more packable than the Outdoor Revolution whistling kettle we first bought.

I use a Bialleti for home use, and I’m sure it will work fine, but can’t justify the storage space - although time will tell!

For an ultra quick coffee we’ve been using the coffee bags from Costco and Taylor’s, which, while no substitute for the real deal, are better than instant. Reminder to self - chuck out the small instant coffee container - of now hard mouldy granules!

Living in a town with one of the world barista champions leaves me a little spoilt for choice. However, the beans front I’ve spent most time on recently are from http://thecolombiancompany.com/ they are decent.

Why does it need an induction plate? Is it made of aluminium?

Sometimes it just be that way. A real bargain requires a real investment. :)

Its quite a small base and the plate helps to spread the heat on gas / make it more stable on the burner top. For small camping burners it’s less of an issue.

The induction one is for use on induction hobs as it’s alley
 
I’m a Lavazza and Pret coffee bean guy.
Need a strong 5 and chocolaty type of taste.
I’ll try that Columbia one

If only they'd managed to find a way to get rid of the hideous cheap plastic "chimney" on the back..."A monstrous carbuncle etc etc".

And to say "coffee made by anything else is pig swill" is ridiculous (or irony)
