So, with the launch of the new California and after listening to the reviews it made me wonder. Why do designers rarely create the perfect vehicle (or accessory) for camping? Do they listen to customers?

I then got to thinking, what would my wish list California then look like?

It would be lwb - electric roof with coloured bellows, panoramic opening and factory solar - heat reflecting privacy glass to living area - internal blinds to all windows - fly screen to tailgate and sliding door (which would be on near side) - spinning and heated front captain seats one with a safe - shower in tailgate with a drop down curtain to use when tailgate is raised - hot water! - keeping a lot of the great stuff such as tables - chairs (but comfort and slightly longer even if it meant smaller rear window) - of course 204bhp 4 motion) - additional cupboard for compost toilet with being lwb - bed as per T6.1 with electric slide out - electronic handbrake to aid step through - electric side awning and step to enter the rear (for the wife lol)

I could go on but now we are getting to somewhere where I think I would never feel I would change from my camper - ever.

What wonders would anyone else desire or is it just me that thinks VW may have missed some useful kit - but then it would be more expensive than booking a space X trip of course!!!
Haha - in my dreams there is such a vehicle, still love my Cali though - with all its quirks.

Looking forward to the club camp at CamperJam, won’t be long. Stay safe. Travel. Camp. Repeat. View attachment IMG_3155.jpeg

Try a Westfalia Club Joker Urban (Transit) or Kepler 6.
That should tick all your requirements above
