It was a stop gap for the UK market , converted to RHD at minimum cost as they already knew the Ford/ Transporter would replace the T6.1 Transporter and the Multivan was replacing the Shuttle and Caravelle and the new California would be based on the Multivan.Exactly.
In 2019 I bought a Tesla model 3 online before the show models were available to see in person in the UK. I wanted a smaller electric car with a long range, that was the only option at the time.
The car was right from day one, the more I drove it, the more I liked it. I still have the car today and love it. Unfortunately, I am going to have to sell it to make way for the Beach.
The T6.1 right hand drive is an anomaly. To my knowledge it's the only transporter / california that doesn't have a footrest. I've never driven a car without a footrest and don't know of any. It's bizarre.
