It's a discover media unit , use the VW part number in your photo to find the info you seek .!

Image 2 vw z etc

If u sell this it will need to be re programmed to the new vehicles Vin number, it's not plug & play, if not done properly it will be locked !
Be careful if you're asking money for it !

Thank you Perfectos.
A very informative reply, and useful information.

I did look up the number and it seems so many variants to RNS510. I had thought each variant would have a model or type.

Mine does not include navigation but does have, Bluetooth, CarPlay, Android auto, Dab etc. at the time of purchase I chose the more expensive 6.33inch larger screen. It even had a reversing camera plugged in.

Seems nothing is straightforward

Thanks again for information.

The sat nav version has two sd card slots, one on each side of the screen, one for map and one for media(music)

The Alpine Halo 9 with park for night and hard drive sat nav is a worthy replacement, only drawback No CD player

I’ve never researched this topic yet … which units with a larger screen could I upgrade the one built-in in my 2020 T6 ?
What does the job involve? From this thread it seems not to be a plug and play replacement

For what you will get 2nd hand for it,its possibly worth keeping to sell on with the van in future. You could refit it and Keep your kenwood.

It is plug and play once you have the right vehicle specific converting looms, of which there are two. One for the power, speakers, camera and one for the CANBUS steering wheel interface and Multi Function Display in the dashboard. Alpine do an 11" display but this is too large for the dash in my opinion and it relies on telephone data for sat nav.

If you contact Absolut5, a Forum member, they can advise regarding your requirements and budget and supply a unit + necessary plug and play leads/adapters .
