The bottom mattress supplied with the California amounts to cruel and unusual punishment: You wake up feeling like you have been run over by a bus! This 3′ additional topper makes all the difference. Whilst it’s not prefect, you do awake refreshed feeling like you have had a decent nights sleep. Well worth the price…

We’ve tried a number of cheaper versions up till now, but this is the only one so far that my partner got a full nights sleep. Does though take up 9 inches on the back shelf though, but not a deal breaker, just have to pack things up better.

We had the original VW Comfort Mattress and found this wasn’t enough so we bought this 3” version and immediately had 100% better night sleep. Would highly recommend this but you just need to make sure you cater for the space this takes up when not in use.

Wow, what a game changer……
We used the mattress (that comes with the Cali), for most of this year since we bought it.
Whilst dead easy to use, it was, not the most comfortable, and was certainly, stiff in parts after a night on it.
I am 5’11” 14st and my wife smaller & lighter, but neither of us got a ‘great’ nights sleep.
Took the plunge and order this mattress.
Well what can we say, just come back from 3 nights in Scotland, and simply cannot believe the difference in comfort, and better quality of sleep.
Cannot praise highly enough tbh, and now don’t dread sleeptime, it is sooooooooo comfortable.
As far as ‘space’ goes, we didn’t really feel we lost any, when not in use, we still store what we did before and it doesn’t affect us, so no issue for us.
