Essential kit if your roof fails. Should be included with the California sale but mine was missing.

Essential back up kit, which I hope I’ll never need. Not giving 5 stars as it came without instructions.

Agree that this is an essential back up kit should the roof mechanism fail. But contrary to other reviews, I found installation intuitive and easy, even without instructions. The larger plastic component slides into the roof rail slot from the front and the smaller plastic component slides into the rail guide on the side of the van, also from the front. Then the Velcro strap simply slides into the appropriate strap slot on the two plastic components and is secured. It is really that simple. How fast can one drive with the Velcro strap secured is an unknown and your speed will depend on how much you trust two Velcro straps as compared to the value of a £4000 pop-up roof. But for me, if the roof has failed and I’m having to tie it down with Velcro, I’m already having a bad day and I don’t want it to get any worse.
