Yes, but that was fitted 2 weeks after I picked it up, and that was due to an electrical fault . so it was a 2014 EGR from stock. So as far as I am concerned that was the EGR the vehicle came with. The vehicle has done 115,000 miles the EGR 114,100 miles.
I , personally, do not think the EGR is the root cause of the problem. It is a symptom. Otherwise EVERY 180 would suffer this problem.They do not.
There is a combination of circumstances that cause the alloy cooling fins to breakdown releasing Al particles that damage the engine. Driving style, oil contamination, excess heat or a cool engine. Most vehicles that are affected, post 2012MY { different problem 2010/2011 engines } are a relatively low milage for a commercial vehicle and are not run regularly .
