2 - 3 rails?

I have been reading the chats regarding extra seats, I have only 2 rails whereas other have 3. Is it possible to explain the history on this please? Was the 3rd rail an option if you wanted a 5th seat? Thanks

Most models came with 3 rails so that the 5th seat could be fitted, although the 4 Motion, in the later years did not come with 3 rails because of weight considerations I believe.

Not that difficult to fit a 3rd rail , except in the 4Motion because of the DriveTrain.

Thank you. to fit the 3rd rail can that be a self fit or is it a dealer job?

A Dealer unless you are very handy with access to a lift. But I would suggest an Independent. Oxford T5 specialise in such items.
