I know nothing about electricity and have to chose which plot to book on a site in France - they are offering 3A, 6A or 10A. Please could someone tell me which to use, we'll only be boiling the odd travel kettle, and charging the ipad/phones. :thanks

Just choose the 10 amp then you are covered :thumb

OR

If your only there for a few days.....don't have hook up and save money......battery's will last about 4/5 days

Power (Watts) = Volts * Amps

So + 230V

3A = 690 Watts
6A = 1380 Watts
10A= 2300 Watts

iPad / iPhone charger is <12W
Laptop charger is around 100W
A travel kettle will be anywhere from 650-3000W (The higher it is, the faster it will boil the same amount of water)

Hope this helps,

Simon

Also bear in mind that the battery charger will be using power as well if you are on hookup. The fridge will be running from the batteries, so they'll be charging a lot of the time.

Not much, but enough to think about if you are close to the limit of the supply with your other devices.

I have had the experience of asking the site warden to reset the tripped electric on the hook up bollard :oops: go for the higher one
Ron.

We've been fine with 6A when abroad but as the others say 10A is your safest bet if available
