Hi
I’ve got a GC680 4motion on order. I understand it has same Haldex 4wd system as the Golf R I own.
its well known in golf R owners club that the filter on the haldex pump needs cleaning frequently, and definitely done during the haldex oil changes. VW don’t do this, but some people ask them to specifically clean it, some dealers refuse though.
I have cleaned the filter on mine a few times and it was gunked up. Eventually the pump will burn out if it clogs up.
wonder how many GC 680 4motion owners are aware of this. I guess the haldex will get a lot more use in the golf with its 300bhp though.

And the filthiest haldex filter award goes to...
.... well, I have to be a contender! I’ve only just clicked over 16k miles and not even 2 years old yet. The used oil was black and full of that sludge crap. Absolutely minging! Can’t believe that VW don’t think this part needs serviced! All nice and clean now though...
