i just wanted to say something about VW and crappy way i felt i had been treated

THIS is the most common California fault. Random, recurrent and no manufacturer solution in sight

IMO if they offered you a full refund that’s good, you haven’t incurred any loss of money, also they are not at fault. The legislation surrounding emissions is crazy and VW cannot afford any further issues.
It is frustrating but If you can save 1000 add another 1000 or 2000 to it & buy a nice no plate that means something to you? Enjoy your van

I think its probably a bit late to start negotiating with the dealer now, he took delivery over 5 years ago.......

I always think, the older the van is, the more kudos it has. They are like a fine wine that gets better with age ( until they breakdown that is !)
