We have two China cups and we store them in the sink, one each side of the tap, with one or two other little bits and pieces.

I agree; we see lots of exterior shots of Calis but not so many of the inside - it is both interesting and helpful to see how other people pack!

Visiting COTF can help with that ... It is wierd to look in othermans Cali ...
But can be very helpfull ...
Btw , i got the Brandrup thing with towel hooks , works great for me!
Also a lot of those Brandrup pockets :thumb

Put our mugs in a plastic box under the sink stored with t towels to stop them rattling. ( folding kettle lives in the sink )

Sorry, me again with another question :sorry

How do you store mugs when on the move? I have bought new mugs for Ariadne but they are bone china (drinks just don't taste the same out of melamine) so I can't really just put them in a box with other bits and bobs.

I have seen the Muggi advertised - does anyone use one of these and does it stop rattles? I have also considered getting a piece of thick foam and cutting mug-sized holes in it.

I would be interested (and grateful) to know what others do to keep their china safe on the move...

Maud

I only take china, melamine is simply not for tea. In the sink, same as andy, and microfibre wash cloths sandwiched in between. Never a chip.... except with the fish

Mattress?

What Mattress?

If you look at the collection of bags on the rear shelf, one is my silver screens, another (the biggest) is my duvet and duvet cover .... and ....

(drum roll maestro please ....)

the other Is an air bed, an oversized single aerobed, electrically inflated from 12v socket in the boot, inflates in seconds, perfect size for fitting on lower bed, releases loads of space, allows rear shelf to be sat in it's highest position.

Very comfortable if you don't get a puncture . f you do the box K3(l) ....lower shelf, left hand side, kitchen, contains a handy puncture repair outfit. (I got terribly deflated in Lincolnshire but on-the-move repairs were successful (another drum roll please...)...

We had a 1" thick replacement parcel shelf mattress made up by Nick at Comfortz. Allows us to keep the Cali shelf in the top position and so maximise storage space underneath. With a mattress topper sleeping is most comfy
