Tailwind? If making a linear journey it makes a hell of a difference, even a moderate 15mph wind will improve your fuel economy significantly.

According to the app my T6.1 Beach (150bhp, DSG) has averaged 38.5mpg over the 16,000 or so miles it has covered so far. For such a big vehicle that is used for both holidays and as an everyday family car I am pretty happy with that.

Sounds good but it’s a GC so very surprised. Only ever achieved around 34/34 mpg.

It also happened to me in France: typically the average consumption of my GC600 is around 8.7 l/km, but it couldn't go below 10 or even 12 l/km throughout the country...
When I left France, it returned to normal consumption...
I thought of everything, maybe the French asphalt compound...

If no roundabouts or traffic lights mpg goes up dramatically.

Possible factors:
Heavy 680 with roof aircon drag.
Cruise control all the way.
65-70mph.
Bad traffic in Germany.
Newish engine with 4k miles on the clock.
A below average driver behind the wheel

Heavy 680 with roof aircon drag.
Cruise control all the way.
65-70mph.
Bad traffic in Germany.
Newish engine with 4k miles on the clock.
A below average driver behind the wheel

Heavy traffic plus aircon working hard has its cost.
Try a cruise at 60mph to get an indication of speed/drag cost for higher speeds.
Not a Grand but I've noticed long 50MPH limit sections on Motorways my consumption figure gives about 5mpg improvement over usual 70mph figure.
For real economy if in no rush try slipstreaming an HGV (90kph limit) or a Coach (100kph limit)

Remember. It’s down hill going that way. Wait until you have to drive back up!

I've noticed a few cars try and do this behind me especially if I'm travelling at the speed limit. I tend to travel 5-10kph below the limit and that cures the problem pretty quick.

Pleased to get 27-29mpg in our 4motion 680 on long cruises, twisty hilly b-roads and it’s down to 23-24mpg though. My 3litre Toyota hilux overlanding pickup truck only does 23mpg all the time tho. So GC better,
