Amsterdam camper site closing down due to housing project.

Amsterdam City Camp camper place is closing down July 1st 2020, according to their website:


To our great regret, Amsterdam City Camp has to close its gates on July 1st 2020. The municipality of Amsterdam needs the site for housing. The activities will not be continued at any other location in Amsterdam.

Alternative is the camping Gaasperdam.nl, ten minutes with the metro to the city of Amsterdam. Not cheap, but a nice place.

Was a terrible place anyway... gravel, no green, not much of service... Prefer camping De Badhoeve, just 20 minutes cycling.

We are camp at Camperpark N205 down the west side of the airport, 100 spaces, can take a bus to Haarlem then Metro to centre, its basic open on grass, but facilities are OK and always clean, local supermarket 10min walk/bike, have been 3 times last year and will be there in August 2020.

Could be closer to Amsterdam, but it is what it is and only € 13.50

Last time we went to AMS we stopped at campsite in Vliegenbos, only 5 min short walk to metro to get into the city.
