It started hailing on the dog walk yesterday.

We have booked a weeks camping in Cornwall for the next bank holiday, so can guarantee that it will be strong winds & raining sideways at the end of May / early June.

I know, I used to get my birthday off work every few years thanks to that!
The good thing about sticking to the date is if the holiday falls on a Thursday or Tuesday, the day before/after is also given to ‘bridge’ to the weekend. Had a 5 day weekend in March!
The downside is that if it falls on a Sunday then you ‘lose’ it!

We get a "bridge" day on May 14, so free as from Thursday and planning to take an extra day off so leaving on Wednesday for a looooooong weekend
Just hoping that ugly northern wind will go away!

Yesterday a twenty mile cycle ride on the triplet around Langstone Harbour.

Now on the South Downs.

Dodgy weather and guess people are waiting around for jab/2nd maybe.
There’s a few vans and a couple of wild campers (tents) about but not many at all.

Would never normally go away on a bank holiday I’m not a fan of packed campsites and traffic jams but this wknd being self sufficient we chanced it not on a campsite but a pay for the night field in the lakes ...it was almost empty and was absolute bliss...stunning weather too and avoided the crowds ..
