Looking to sell my Bodans T5 Campervan and change to a Westfalia California Exclusive. Looking for a very high quality one so willing to pay top price for the right one.

There were a couple on eBay last week. Other than that, Mobile.de (German car website) and import one. There are always a few minters on there.

Interesting you’re going from 5 to a 4? I get it completely but then I’m biased. I’d love a 5 or 6 , I think the styling is nicer than the 4 but mechanically, I wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole.
The later 4s are every bit as good as a 5 and much more robust *

(* Other opinions are available).

I agree - probably biased too :happy
In The Netherlands there are some reliable dealers too, try https://www.autoscout24.com/lst/vol...,U&size=20&page=1&version0=exclusive&atype=C& and also https://www.marktplaats.nl/l/caravans-en-kamperen/q/california+exclusive/ The first one on there looks stunning but pricy...

Layout mainly. With kids in a Van, the pop top is great until you want to make a drink in the morning...

A side kitchen with a roof bed on your head isn't the best. A fixed toilet would also be welcome. The T4 Cali Exclusive ticks all the boxes....other than a T5/6 Club Joker but even then the downstairs bed looks very small and very high up... + mega £££

The one on ebay is of interest, although i didn't have a budget as such, I feel it's about £4K overpriced (although current market means my Van will fetch more than it should too). I will kick myself if it sells, but I'm struggling to get to see it in the next 2-3 weeks as my Wife is 39 weeks Pregnant as a Surrogate!

If the Van is still for sale in 3 weeks I will be going to see it, I just can't string the seller on for 3 weeks asking them not to list again on ebay etc as that would be unfair.

Will be moving away from Side kitchen/Pop top for reason mentioned above, cracking looking van though...much better than some dodgy home conversions being sold for twice the price.

I've looked at import but now we are out of the EU i'm looking at 20% VAT ontop, plus registration fees etc. Could easily add £5K onto an already inflated market price.
I didn’t realise that was the case now. Still, £5k isn’t the end of the world if you negotiate a good deal. I’m not sure how the German market is now with so many towns rolling out restrictions on older diesel units so you might get a deal?

If it was the right van I’d go for it.

Is VAT payable on second hand stuff?

May be worth a look again as Euro 25K isn't that bad in ££ for the right van

Does Brexit impact importing vehicles into the United Kingdom at all?

The main difference is you will now have to pay VAT. But it’s not all bad news!

If you have owned the car for over 12 months, that’s good news.

You could qualify for a VAT-free import under the ToR scheme (that is if you are moving to the UK). Otherwise, you will be liable to pay the full amount of tax due.

Prior to Brexit, you could import cars under the freedom of movement between EU countries, but the UK is no longer in the EU.

So 20% Tax now...Damn, should of started looking sooner...
