Apple Car Play in 2009 California

Hi all,

Currently got a RCD200 fitted, would like to upgrade to Car Play.

Any recommends? Would prefer a 'name' rather than a cheapo eBay job...

Saw a post here about the RCD330. Might be worth the try, but not sure your "old" T5 supports this newer unit.
Unless you go aftermarket with Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer, ... ?

I put in a Chinese Android unit in mine. Wouldn't really recommend it to anyone not having the knowledge how to set up the unit for full functionality. And it doesn't have apple car play.

I used to have a JVC radio cassette player with a 12 CD changer in my Golf 4 which was marvellous (at the time). And I had a small home stereo with double cassette player and 3 CD changer also from JVC.
Don't know about the quality and durability from this JVC unit.

Maybe if someone else here has experience with aftermarkets?

If you’ve got a single din unit now then the Alpine Halo 9 is going to work well, otherwise the ilx 702 (both on your list)

I’ve had an Alpine CarPlay unit for 3 years and it’s been brilliant.

I have 3 Pioneer sph da120’s, faultless and never let me down, one is four years old and is on/used 8-14hrs a day 5 days a week. There are now newer and better versions but I don’t have experience with those. Less than £400 each.
